Walmart currently evaluates US seller-fulfilled orders against eight named standards: Cancellation Rate, On-Time Delivery Rate, Valid Tracking Rate, Seller Response Rate, Negative Feedback Rate, Return Rate, Item Not Received Rate and Late Shipment Rate. Refund Rate was retired on April 14, 2026. Walmart's US standards pages do not define an 'Order Defect Rate'.

What changed in 2026

  • Return Rate and Item Not Received Rate were announced in January 2026 and enforced from April 2026.
  • Refund Rate was retired on April 14, 2026. Return Rate and Item Not Received Rate replace it.
  • Negative Feedback Rate is a standard at 2% or below.

Walmart states that these standards are subject to change. Confirm the current numbers in your Seller Center Performance dashboard before making decisions.

A note on 'Order Defect Rate'

Some tools, forums and notices use the term. Walmart's US standards pages define the eight named metrics above and no composite with that name. If a notice or dashboard mentions it, check which named metric is failing. Our post on this: What Walmart's Order Defect Rate actually measures.
